In The Public Eye was founded by Joia Jefferson Nuri who spent more than two decades working for news organizations. Prior to opening ITPE, Joia was the first African American technical director of CBS’s Face the Nation, a news writer for the CBS affiliate in Washington, freelance reporter, anchor for various news outlets, and served as senior producer for C-SPAN, NPR and PBS stations. Joia has written Congressional testimony for clients and testified herself before a House subcommittee on aid organizations in Haiti. She also delivered the keynote address at the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) in Vienna, Austria before the leaders of 53 nations and the Vatican. Joia has penned keynote addresses for foundation leaders and three TED presentations.
